Men hurt less than women!

Men-hurt-less-than-women1

Recent scientific research comes again to put things in place: Eventually, yes, men are hurt less than women!

Neither one nor two but 162,000 people participated in a survey that studied the differences in pain perception between men and women.

The research concluded that men are more resistant to pain than women, since "women report more intense pain than men in almost all categories of disease."

Lead researcher, Atul Butte, MD, PhD, admits that they have done in the past and other similar studies with different conclusions, but this (his own) is the first to show that women feel more intense pain.

Butte's team put more than 160,000 patients with 250 different diseases to rate the intensity of their pain from 1 to 10 and found that women gave higher ratings than men.

The truth is that studies have been done in the past on the strength of women long distance runners showed that women, contrary to popular perception, stand on large distances.

Another survey conducted in 2010 by the insurance company Engage Mutual, found that men tend to exaggerate with the pain they feel. For example, often characterized as a cold flu or a simple headache as migraine.

Although the new research seems to "invalidate" the earlier they want women "harder" than men, the Butte and his team somehow doubt their credibility, since, as he says: "we do not know whether patients who participated in past investigations had taken painkillers before or at the time of the survey there was someone else in the room and the patient did not want to show that it hurts. It is not clear if women feel more pain than men, but certainly indicate more pain, "concludes Butte.

Ultimately we did not tip. However, before jumping to call women "weaker sex" issue definitely needs more investigation. O Butte and his team plan to investigate the matter further.

Why men do not understand women

men-dont-understand-women
Most men have thought many times that I will never understand the women. Apparently, they are right: a new study reveals that instinct does not help at all.

Scientists from the University Hospital LWL, in Bochum, Germany, found that men who stare at pictures human eyes instinctively guess better mood the person is shown when it is a man.

As they write in the journal «PLoS One», in their study involved 22 men - all unmarried and aged 21 to 52 years.

The volunteers looked at pictures eye as long as undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) brain.

Half of the photos depicting female eyes and the other half men, each one expressing emotions positively, negatively or neutrally.

As the volunteers looked at one to one the photos, I had to choose between two words that describe the mood of the eyes. However, they had no information if the photo looked concerned wife or husband.

As demonstrated by their responses, volunteers they achieved much more accurately sensing the mood of male eye than that of women.

Furthermore, when looking at the photos of male eyes, the amygdalae (they are a structure that is associated with feelings) activated more than where it looked feminine eyes.

The same happened with other areas of the brain associated with emotions.

Because the scientific community there is a widespread perception that emotional "reading" toward us is primarily the eyes, the new findings suggest that men naturally "read" best men's feelings than the female.

Since, therefore, inherently do not understand what women feel, it is extremely difficult to understand and, say the researchers.

This is not the first study that leads to this conclusion. Researchers from Indiana University have discovered some time ago that men tend to misinterpret positive messages than women, often mistaking friendliness as erotic call.

Relationships: Why men do not want to talk

men-donot-want-to-talk

The reluctance of men to discuss with their partners their problems are not due to shame or indifference, but because we simply do not see what the point, according to a new study.

Indeed, this attitude is not something acquired growing up, but something that develop during childhood.

As shown by the study, while girls believe talking all the time about their problems would feel better, the boys believe that this practice is a waste of time and mildly "strange."

The study, published in the journal «Child Development», made scientists led by Dr Amanda Rose from the University of Missouri, who recruited nearly 2,000 children and adolescents.

"For years, psychologists have insisted that boys and men would like to talk about their problems but hesitant of shame or because they want to show weak," said Dr. Rose.

"However, when we asked young people for their views about the whole thing, boys did not express more fear or discomfort than what the girls. In contrast, their answers showed that they do not consider it particularly useful to outsource those whose employ. "

Dr Rose believes that the findings of the study explain why men and women have such different ways of dealing with problems in their relationships.

"Women typically push their partners to share their concerns, because they believe that in this way they will feel better and will find a solution," he said.

"The companions, however, generally do not care because they believe that in time the situation will improve natively. This leads to bickering couples, as the woman often perceive introversion partner as disinterest. "

Moreover, "many men think alike discuss a relationship problem, the worse they do. So, they prefer to deal with anything to escape their mind and reduce tension, "he added.

Dr Rose believes that the findings are an opportunity for men to learn that sometimes it's good to talk - and woman that is tedious to constantly talk about what their concerns.
